Screen printed labels use the silk screen process to apply your design onto the same soft material used in our woven labels. Screen printing onto fabric labels allow for a more accurate translation of your design compared to traditional woven labels which are limited by the thickness of thread. They are ideal when your labels have small text or you require an exact replication of small details in your design that may not work well with thread. Select any woven label material color for the background and up to four print colors.

Q: What's the minimum order for screen printed labels?

We have a low minimum of just 5 pieces, but screen printed labels become most cost-effective at quantities of 100+ due to setup involved. For smaller runs, sublimation or woven labels may offer better value.

This technique is especially beneficial for brands that require an exact representation of their logo. It's also highly effective for designs that include very small text. Screen printed labels tend to be lighter than woven labels because they use only one thread color in the background material. The inks used are fade-resistant and are custom mixed to match the specific print colors you choose, ensuring they last as long as the label does. For designs that need sharp, clean edges and exact proportions, screen printed labels are an excellent option for your products.
How Small can I Print Text?
Screen printed labels are ideal for designs that incorporate small text, which might not be effectively replicated with thread. Unlike woven labels, which are limited to fonts no smaller than 5pt, screen printed labels can display text as small as 3.5pt. For the smallest text sizes, we recommend using a straightforward sans serif font and avoiding script or ornate fonts. Our dedicated team of graphic designers is always here to help with any necessary adjustments to ensure your text is legible.
Receive Expert Color Matching
We use the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to achieve the most accurate color match for your screen printed labels. In general, we will match your artwork file colors to the closest Pantone Coated equivalent. You may also include Pantone Coated color codes in your artwork file or order comments for us to reference if you prefer. If you don't have a physical Pantone color chart, our online chart can serve as a substitute. Just keep in mind that each computer screen can display colors differently, which is why the physical Pantone chart is the most accurate. You will have a chance to review and approve the Pantone colors selected for your order in your digital proof before we start full production.
Screen Printing requires Vector Artwork
The screen printing process requires a vectorized version of your artwork. Vector file formats include AI, EPS and SVG. This is because when screen printing, each color is printed individually. Common bitmap files such as JPG or PNG are flat and don't allow us to separate each color. If you need a screen printed label and don't have a vector file, please submit the highest resolution file you have, ideally 300dpi or higher. Our graphic artist will try to convert your bitmap file to vector. If we have any problems we'll let you know before production begins.
Exploring Versions for Screen Printed Labels:
Easily split your screen printed label order into different size or color versions if needed. A ‘version’ is a minor modification or variation in your artwork. Change a single color or make small text changes (ex. size symbols S, M, L). Please note that significant changes to the artwork or design, such as changing shapes, or size of the label, do not fall under ‘versions’ and must be processed as separate orders. We charge a flat fee of $25 for each version change.
